2008/2009 DIRECT FLIGHT PROGRAM FEATURES NONSTOP ALL-JET SERVICE ON FIVE AIRLINES

The Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s winter nonstop flight program will offer all-jet nonstop air service from nine major airports on five key U.S. carriers – American, Continental, Delta, Northwest and United Airlines, direct into Steamboat/Hayden Airport for the 2008/2009 season.

"In a very volatile and uncertain environment, our guests can count on Steamboat’s air program," said Andy Wirth, executive vice president of sales & marketing and chief marketing officer for Intrawest. "Even in this challenging environment, Steamboat is able to largely maintain the substantial gains in airline capacity and routes realized over the past three years, allowing us to make Steamboat still one of the most easily accessed resorts in the Rocky Mountains. And we’re proud to have accomplished this important objective with an all-jet schedule," continued Wirth.

For 2008/2009, United Express has upgraded its nonstop Denver service to all jets, with double the capacity of the Dash-8 aircraft. In addition to nonstop air service from nine major airports, Steamboat/HDN has convenient connecting service from more than 150 other domestic and international cities.

"Steamboat's air program is one of the most successful, longest-running programs in the industry," commented Wirth. "The state-of-the-art airport facility, coupled with robust flight options, offer complete convenience for guests and a competitive advantage for the Steamboat Springs community."

Overall, the resort forecasts the total available seats for the 2008/2009 season to be 150,501, compared to 162,823 for the prior year. Despite rising fuel costs and service reductions being seen across the network, Steamboat’s direct flight program will see slight modifications and in essence, remain relatively unchanged. This year’s program is ideally positioned with its current flight schedule, last year’s record Champagne Powder® snow, and all-jet service to fully leverage the flights in place and make access a key deciding factor.
