The Steamboat Springs Hot Air Balloon Rodeo offers guests a spectacle like no other with a sky full of color. This year's event will be different than past years, but the organizers have committed to bring the show to the skies and let you enjoy the colorful spectacle from a vantage point of your choice, exercising social distancing throughout the city.
The early morning launches of more than two dozen hot-air balloons at Bald Eagle Lake provide several great viewing options. Watching the balloons inflate offers a slow-building bit of excitement as flat fabric evolves into huge, beautiful pieces of art. And watching the balloons slowly fill the sky makes for memorable views and images.

The Yampa Valley will be dotted with color as more than two dozen balloons take to the sky Saturday and Sunday mornings. Balloon launch begins at 6:30am each morning. In the interests of public safety and Covid-19 transmission mitigation, we will NOT have any public viewing area or grounds activities associated with the event.
The Launch site is NOT be open to the public. Please enjoy the balloons from the comfort of your home, hotel balcony, favorite breakfast patio or local public open spaces. Any attempt to be at the launch site will be considered trespassing on private property. Thank you for your understanding.
